Wow, time flies! 6 years ago today on a gloomy December afternoon we maidened the ATI Resolution 3 marinized UAV … developed in part for a NOAA SBIR. The project didn’t advance much beyond the end of the SBIR unfortunately, but it was a really cool and innovative design in many ways. It’s main unique ability was being water proof … ocean-proof in fact, and could be launched off small boats with minimal operational infrastructure. One small 6’ launcher, and then the plane would belly into the water … drive up, pluck it out, rinse it off, and you are ready to go again.
I’d imagine if it had a camera pod it’d be great for the USCG.
