When I first read this post I thought you meant a car engine.

Now I see it’s an aeroplane engine, that makes the weight reduction a much more significant metric because the engine weight would have been paramount in the original designers mind; something they needed to keep to a minimum. Reducing it by over 30 percent is a major achievement I reckon.
