Is it just me, or is bamboo very hard to work with. I cut out a design in 3/4 Walnut plywood that worked great, tried the same file on a piece of bamboo and it broke the bit and was generally not cutting well at all.

I think bamboo cutting boards use particularly tough bamboo because, well, cutting boards.
What kind of bamboo? Is it stranded, strand woven (flooring) bamboo?
Strand woven bamboo is the hardest of woods!
