Hi!
Actually adding windows support is pain in the ass - first of all we would need to install windows ^^" No problem to provide Linux Live Distro instead ;]
We don’t know too much about camera yet - this kind tests are “to be run”, and that parts of code were not browsed much.
What you see in top left side of the picture is added USB HID support, which works in pair with prototype electronics made to work with it.
Damn, and here I actually added a new window
I agree that main window is a bit plain, and organizing it all in one might be a good idea, it’s a lot of work though. (The easiest way I thought of would be importing code partially to new project in QT creator)
And it probably shouldn’t - I don’t recall anything which would work with “Detect Laser”, although there is option like that. Also PC-electronics part doesn’t provide reading from electronics.
Again we don’t have any problems like that on linux machine. Maybe using Linux specially for work with scanner could sound like overkill, but it might be not if you can have all tools you need to work with your scan on this platform.
It’s a nice, cheap tool - with not so little work it could be very nice, and yet cheaper tool ;]
It will be nice
Even if windows wins it’s users, it’s open source, and I don’t know any windows programmer who would work for free.
I added USB HID support on the PC side (not loosing old serial communication). On the side of controller I used Atmega8 (as I had some old AT8 with USB soldered) and V-USB, AT328 is a huge overkill. Final version shall be on Attiny2313, and ready to go board shall cost about 14 euro. It will be open source, and open hardware of course.
