Woah, I had no idea how important the stepper currents were! I have a prusa i3 (makerfarm kit) running off a printrbot with 42BHH48-050-24A steppers on all axis. I didn’t start skipping steps until I was down to 1% current! Running at 2% (5% for z), I was able to print tom’s resonance test without issues and it is so much quieter now. That seems kind of low…
to set a proper value of stepper currents is impotant,sure!
2% didn’t work in practice (expected). I am slowly stepping it up, around 15% now. Almost there. The x axis tugs on the spool so it will probably need higher current until I can fix that.
