Are you sure that association is a real thing? Their addresses are all virtual offices and the site looks suspiciously generic, with bootloads of stolen and unattributed pictures and very little original content.
My impression is that it’s just someone trying to cash in on the 3D printing hype from another angle.

Based on some of the (soon to be announced) Board Members my opinion is that this is the real thing and no scam. Website is in relaunch.
