Is this machine-specific, or does somebody make something like this that’s sort of generic to many machines?

That looks custom made using stock plastic and two standard threaded rods from Home Depot or Lowes. I would have cut holes and not slots so that I could etch the entire glass. This would be super easy to make from scratch assuming you have a laser spindle that could accommodate it.
