when I go to extrude, the feed does not move, just the wheel. I do not know if it is not getting a grip or if it is some other issue. Can anyone help steer me in the right direction?

Loosen up the extruder and turn on the hot end. Can you push filament through with your hands? (It’ll be hard) - if you can push the filament through, you’re probably just not getting a good grip on the filament.

Which printer?

Alright thanks for the quick responses! I have my extruder temp at 240, printing ABS. I took the bolt out and cleaned the teeth up, and just generally cleaned out the extruder. I can barely push any filament through though

and it is a Mendel i2

there was a clog in the nozzle, but it keeps doing it. I can push it through manually but it doesnt seem to grip. I also cleaned out the bolt.

If you can push it through manually, you don’t have enough tension on the idler. From here it’s all up to you to figure out why that is. Keep in mind those idlers need to be REALLY tight with some types of filament.

Make sure the filament your using isn’t some cheap chinese type with ball bearings in it either…
