When I fire the laser to cut or engrave it never goes above 50%

connections all made and everything works …yay

only one small problem when I fire the laser to cut or engrave it never goes above 50% on the amp meter and it still takes the same amount of passes as it did when it was a standard k40 …it now has a 50w tube and 50w rated psu

I have put a new 10 turn pot in case it was that and have tried jumping the IN and 5V but neither make a difference

I’m assuming it is something in the config somewhere ??

any thoughts please

If you don’t have the right pot yet, you can just wire the IN and 5V lines together ( temporarily emulating a pot set at 100% ).

There shouldn’t be anything in the default config that would do what you describe, I’d suspect something about wiring or the PSU itself

One thing you can try is to use the original 40W PSU to test with. It is actually capable of running a 50W tube. This will rule out the new PSU if you get the same results.

What is the actual current reading on the meter?

Can you measure the voltage on IN pin to ground with a DVM?

Pls post picture of LPS showing connectors…
