What printable height do you see as a sweet-spot? Does the XY size matter to you more than the Z? I find myself designing and printing more XY-centric objects than Z-centric.

I myself have found that 250 to 300 on XY and hardly 200 on Z is more than enough. A less tall printer also makes for a more stable printer which comes as a bonus.

For me, 200x200x170-200 is enough. The FB2020+ is just overkill with a build volume of 200x200x275. My Migbot Prusa i3’s all have a build volume of 210x260x185 most of the Y I don’t use as I find I’m printing within a 200x200 area most of the time. The tallest item my company sells is 70mm tall, most of the items are around 13mm tall

I’m with you on the XY zone over my Z . As long as I can run between 350-450 on my Z I’m happy but there are many prints out now that are kits printed in a single “plate” of parts that The XY has gotta be large.
