What kind of engine is this?

Hi,
these are my first experiments with Arduino, I’d like to use this engine:

But I don’t know what kind of engine is and if I can control its speed.
Is it possible according to you?
Is it a DC engine?

Since it only has 2 wires, a red and a black, I would assume it is a DC motor. I would try googling the model number and see if you can find a spec sheet for it to be sure.
