What are the various Open Source printer manufacturers doing nowadays to advertise? It creeps me out how synonymous “3d printer” and “Makerbot” are getting over on /r/technology. Makes me wish somebody more respectable would advertise as hard as they do.
Lulzbot gave @HACKADAY an AO-101 I believe, which was some good advertisement. But the thing is, I’m not sure how many open source 3D printer guys (the ones who are really part of the community anyways) that want to be like bre. I don’t think they want vast 3D printer empires and investors and large inventory to deal with.
