Well this could be interesting. Materialise partner with Trimble on the 3D Model repository 3D Warehouse. It is my understanding that models designed in SketchUp can be ran through Materialise’s award-winning Magics software in the cloud and then flagged as 3D Printable on the massive repository that has 700,000 visitors a day! A blow for thingiverse?

I hope the mentioned “Magics” software works well. Otherways lots of the models at 3D Warehouse won’t be printable.
They’re yet to release more details but the plan is to make SketchUp more print friendly.
By now I had no problems with the stl plugin.
@Nathan_Walkner You don’t have to! Download the plugin with the browser. Then install the rbz file on the computers of your choice. ![]()
@Nathan_Walkner If you work with Cura, import for dae format is already built in and works perfect.
I’m curious how @Materialise is going to spread the mentioned piece of software to the makers…
