Webaccess to the Controller

For Xmas I got a diode laser X12 pro from Atomstack [1]. The controller looks like this [2]. To access the controller there are only two options: Serial over USB or via an App. Since the board is controlled by an ESP32, the firmware could be upgraded to FluidNC. This way I would get full access by its web interface.

A) Will that work as expected?
B) AFAIK FluidNC can be flashed out of the box. All the settings are done afterwards with a config file. Is there a chance, that the default settings will kind a work with my board?
C) Any idea, where I can get more information about that?

The board you link to seems cheap enough at $26 that maybe just order it and try messing with the new board instead of potentially trashing the old board by mistake. If it works, then you also have a backup board.
