obviously sanding only works in the spots you can reach…
Why don’t they recommend any filler? It’s much easier to sand then hard PLA for the finer grits. Also don’t use sand paper. Use sand linen/sponges. The paper you get in hardware stores is the most terrible, stiff, brittle stuff I’ve ever used.

It’s shiny now but the layers are still visible.

We’ve not tried filler, as this could effect the finished colour.

The aren’t visible where we’ve sanded, is just at the edges where we couldn’t reach.

The method could be improved with small sanding blocks as previously suggested.

Hope you found it interesting!

That’s why you color the object afterwards and then give it a high gloss clear coat. Before you do the polishing. These coats alone can remove half an hour of sanding.

shaking my head if I photoshop benchy to make it look better does that count. It’s like giving up. “Oh well can’t get my printer to print better let’s just paint it.”

You can see structures down to 0,01mm and feel structures down to 0,001mm. No FDM printer will ever be able to do that right out of the box.
