That project was a tough nut to crack but you squashed it!

Goes a bit against the “grain” as this Butternut is not of the squash variety …
Very beautiful, all bowls.
May I ask if it is copper nailing in your first picture we can see, on the top of the bowl - very delicate detail.
The copper inlays in the bowl are created by:
Drilling holes around the perimeter with this shop-made tool and using the indexing pin of the lathe.
The inlaid pins are sections of #6 copper wire cut to length and glued then hammered into the holes.
The surface is turned and sanded after its insertion.

If you mean an index for positioning and locking the spindle, the lathe has that feature.
Then you have many options with this machine, great!
