Updated the timeline of my TravelCNC project.

Updated the timeline of my TravelCNC project.
(I try to keep 1 blog-power for the project, so people don’t have to read month of postings to get all the facts.)

Thanks for sharing. What is the motivation behind your travel CNC plan? Are you hoping to use it for educational purposes, custom sign making at craft fairs, custom on-site parts replacements for shops?

Bringing it to hacker events (CCC Congress, camp, GPN, OHM2013,…) and machining in wood, wax, plastic, 3D-printing, sign+T-shirt cutting.
Also my work requires me to travel and live in temporary locations a lot and I’m used to bring a minimal workshop with me.
Just no CNC up to now (formerly only 3D printing, mechanical+electronics tools and a small selection of common parts).

Also of cause software development of my “SimpleMultiAxisCAM” since I’m doing a lot of real 4 axis machining and affordable CAM software only allows for fake 4 axis (3 axis with 1 rotational axis without properly taking into account the differences of a rotational vs. a linar axis)

assembled eveything…calibrated. Now cutting a circle into a piece of cardboard to test.

Thanks for your detailed answer.
