Those who picked up a #Frankenbot starter kit - how did you work the belt(s)?

As I’m trying to figure out the print head / Y axis assembly, I’m looking at the belt and pulleys.

In Brook’s video I see a length of belt looped around the Y-axis and a length of belt along the X-axis (with a jog in it for viewer entertainment). The length of belt I received appears to be barely long enough for the Y loop with not enough to spare for the X axis.

How far apart are your Y axis stepper and bearing?

I have plenty of belt, could just be your kit

I’m hoping it’s just that I’m trying to bite off more than I can chew
Hence the question - how far apart are the stepper and idler on the Y axis?

Are you using the design Brook posted??

You mean this: https://www.youmagine.com/designs/printrbot-starter-kit

Just the picture - to be honest, I hadn’t thought to look at the dxf files to extract measurements. I haven’t worked with dxf files before, so I’ll have to add that to the learning curve.

Unless I’m missing something, his design also seems to imply 3 idler pulleys, however, only 2 are supplied. I wasn’t going to run the X axis around the Z axis, but rather try and do something more stable/centered under the table anyway, so I’m ok with the number of idlers.

Yup you are right. I used the 625zz for that with a printed piece around it. Can show you a pic if you want

625ZZ? So my kit came with a 624ZZ - which I assume is the pressure bearing in the extruder.

The joys of a frankenbot - never know what you’re getting  Here’s the packing list that came with my kit: http://3k8g8c3p564l1zjnb621d3aoii6.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Printrbot-Starter-Kit-BOM-11-22-15.pdf

The posted design is also (much) less relevant since I received the round linear bearings, not the block ones. So, all my bearing mounts will be different.

I am working on making adapters for my design. If you want I can send you a set if you need them printed. He ran out of the blocks and won’t be making any more.

As for the 624zz… I think mine is too. I don’t have it on hand at the moment but I guessed it was 625. Prob was just wrong.

@Griffin_Paquette Sure, that be great! (Or maybe put them someplace public and post a link for all/others?)
