Except they didn’t 3D print any sort of tissues. The just printed a model of the existing heart. The digital model was acquired through tomography. None of this is anything truly new.

Interesting article - too bad the title is misleading. they didnt print an organ, they printed a reference model from MRI data to plan the surgery

Not truly “new” but good that medicine may be finally utilizing the technology more regularly. The first step is acceptance, the rest is just refining.

If practices like this become more accepted and utilized, once bio-printing becomes more advanced, the possibility of actually printing organs might not be met with such hesitation.
