This is my 4th attempt printing using Cura rather than Slic3r. The gcode is tremendously faster, but I keep running into this problem where my extruder’s heater stops heating. The temp just drops until the firmware refuses to extrude any more. The printer of course keeps on chugging away… Any suggestions?
Scratch that question: Just figured out it was the fan pointed at the nozzle. I thought it would be fine, but it was definitely cooling it off too much for the heater to compensate for. Hopefully I am 1 hour, and 18 minutes away from a new extruder block.
If your little fan is cooling your printer down to a temp. that is too low for extruding, you probably need a bigger powersupply.
Allthough for my printer they say 18A is enough, i still need a 30A supply to get a descent print.
I’m explicitly printing at 200 (ABS), rather than the more common 220+. This is based off of the old recommendation of printing at as low a temp as possible… Bad advice?
