The H-1 gets ailerons. Next rudders and elevators, retractable landing gear, framing. Requesting help with design and sourcing parts. For example, what are we going to use for a landing gear? Retractable? Is there anything off the shelf that will suit our needs? http://a360.co/1QoKKpV

[Edit] The OpenRC H-1 project is a collaborative development exercise. We are creating a single large 1/4 scale 3D printed aircraft model as a group. Distributed development.

Now we are talking!! I think I have the internal structure figured out

What are you thinking?

It’s a semi-complicated process in fusion 360 that results in a spiral print. Inside structure and outside form fuse together with carefully applied splits so close that it welds itself into one structure.

Now off to print an example. Pics soon.

The H-1 uses split flaps, like in this illustration: http://www.langleyflyingschool.com/Images/Aerodynamics%20and%20Theory%20of%20Flight/Flaps.gif

Gotta remember to turn the cowl on for screen grabs. Looks much sleeker with the cowl.
