Thanks for all the video tips, you guys… here’s what I’ve got so far.

I sorta adore this hula hoop – it’s a Phoenix hoop from SpinFX. You can upload .bmp files to it and it translates them to persistence of vision patterns that play on the hoop. You can also write a script to go along with your song and play certain patterns at time markers you specify.

I’ve performed this piece 3 times for audiences so far, and it seems to be very well received by both 10 year old girls and Burners… :slight_smile: Let me know what you think!

It’s wonderful.

Have you thought of poi? They are easy to build, because the lump at the end can contain all your electronics - including such coolness as motion sensors, noise-makers and big batteries. Plus, traditional poi dances are so versatile - so many different moves.

Yeah, I’m itching for a set of POV poi but I need them to have professional level reliability. I’ve built enough poi sets over the years to know that nothing I can make myself will hold up well enough. Poi take a beating even if a pro is holding the reins.
