Super fun pattern to make. Common animals you would find if you ever come to my great state of Texas.
Grayscale depth map image pattern for your carving fun.
Animals are AI generated (StableDiffusion XL) with AI generated depth maps (marigold). Cleaned up using Blender3d. Pattern composition my own.

I really like this pattern a lot.
First carving attempt was a failure on my part. I had a cherry blank that was perfect size but…had a bad twist and cup, but I tried it any way. The board tilted due to the cup at the end of the carve. I re-positioned and tried to finish it but the change in position was bad. I’ll probably sand and throw into the give away pile. I would hate to throw it in the burn pile.
Carved at 9" x 9" x .35"
Gluing up an Eastern red cedar blank now.
Running low on my lumber selection.

Looks great. The barbed wire is a nice touch.

Thanks.
Just came out of the cnc. Just needs a tiny bit of light sanding and I can add the magic by applying the finish.
Same dimension in a cedar blank.

Love the magic when oil touches the lumber. 6 coats of lacquer.

For anyone new to Blender and 3d modeling for cnc patterns I made a tutorial on how I make and use a barbed wire model.
Please let me know if anything is confusing.
