Hello. I’m looking into designing a controller for a new 3D printer that uses an inject pen along the lines of the Oasis 3DP. I’d love to use a purpose-built 3D controller board like the Smoothie, but finding that G-code does not support raster operations. Has anyone used a G-code board like Smoothie to drive an inkjet printer?
Direct stepper control is the foundation of Klipper, so it would seem to be worth asking them about it, and has been recently added to Marlin (implemented differently), which might also be worth looking at.

Not an inkjet, but a laser. The Cohesion3D boards utilize a special build of Smoothieware to do “clustering” operations and run at about 1k gcode lines per second.
