Still waiting for electronics to arrive, so had some time to play with CAD. I made some designs for #CrossCarriage with 10x10 Aluminium or Carbon Sqaure Tube.
One using normal bearings with shrink tube cover.
Second using Openbuilds MiniV Wheels.
Third and smallest using just 4 Openbuilds DualV Wheels.

I also like this adjustable design!
But i can’t find a connection for a bowden extruder ?
Sorry hot end.

Nice, but look into the numbers on alu vs cf. IIRC, cf is stronger, but not as rigid per unit mass. Of course wall thickness will play a role as well.

I figured out that 10mm Carbon round Tube is much harder to bend than 10mm Aluminum. Did not test if this is the same with square tube, so will have to test.
Found cheap carbon square tube, but sold out at the moment. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=47108

@Dale_Dunn is right, there might be some whipping under heavy acceleration…but…deflection might be minimized if one axis bare were flat and the other vertical.

I rescind my comment, much detail was lost looking at the photos on my phone. :smiley:

@shauki
Be careful, carbon dust is very dangerous!
