Someone was asking about the Cura stop at Z height feature somewhere else and I mentioned that you could probably insert not just nuts and bolts but other 3D prints. Has anybody inserted 3D prints in their 3D prints? I figure it would be a great way to make multi-color prints without extra hardware. I figure you could also make the inserts with layer lines that go in a different direction than the rest of the print for extra strength. I figure you could even dab on something to make the next layer not stick on a certain area so that you can ensure your parts move. I would like to hear your thoughts and experiences.

Certainly an interesting idea to try.

I’ve not tried it yet but it would provide some interesting options for printed in place assemblies. Its on my list of things to try out.

Have you run into issues with multiple stop at Z points in Cura? Upon resume the print does not always keep printing correctly for me. Seems to skip lines.

@Jeff_Parish I have not really tried it but I like to talk about cool ideas.
