Some ABS parts- one acetone vapor smoothed block and a large unfinished sheave (5" diameter) just went in the pressure chamber. They’ll come out friday after enduring 4000 meter depth water pressure (~almost 6000psi) for ~2 days. I’ll post some before and after pictures - it’s sure to be entertaining
What do you expect would happen to them ?
If they act porus, then hopefully nothing. If they act as a hollow container, they will be crushed. Regardless, I’m mainly interested in how much shrinkage happens - compression of the ABS is sure to occur at such extreme pressures.
