Found a small vintage metal cabinet curbside that I rescued and refurbished. It’s the perfect size to hold all the common solvents and finishes I use. Decided to add a NFPA 704 hazard symbol.
Engraved and cut one from 1/8” Baltic birch ply. Colored with sharpie markers and sealed with a clear spray finish.
Ok, had to make a mod. Wasn’t happy with the poor contrast between the engraved numbers and the blue and red areas. Cut the numbers from the same 3mm ply and then sanded them down to about 1.5mm thick with my disc sander. Left them natural and Inlaid the numbers into the engraved area with some glue so they ended up being proud of the surface. Looks much better.
