So I've pretty much finished the Maker's Kit upgrade on my Printrbot  Simple,

unscrew nozzle - boil it in water

@Nils_Hitze 100C is hot enough to clean the nozzle?

That seems too low to me - that won’t even liquify PLA. (Though it might soften it?)

I know that in some cases you can heat the nozzle to a low temp and pull the PLA back out - there is a “release” temp that is much lower than extrusion - I seem to think in the 40-50C range.

In any case blowtorch is WAY more fun. Do you have micro drill bits?

I don’t have micro drill bits either - I know, I’m not much of a maker. I am already a proponent of “cleanse it with fire”, so you don’t have to convince me there - I routinely use that technique on my espresso filter.

@Patrick_Ryan The drill bits are handy to run through the nozzle after, just to make sure it’s perfectly round and the correct size

Where does one get these magical bits? Princess Auto?

I bought mine off Amazon I believe… I don’t think PA has them that small, though you never know!

I’ll bring my nozzle for us to monkey with on Thursday.

Before or after we drink the beer? XD

Both have their arguments, but I’m gonna go with “before”. Or, at worst, “while”. Not sure what we’d end up with, with “after”, but I’m fairly sure it could involve emergency rooms.
