So I’ve got back to working on my Prometheus System upgrade for my Simple metal. I have loaded a custom hex with all the changes needed, but on the Distech Automation user guide it says for Cura just import the .rcp profile, and change a couple settings. The problem is that Cura 15.04.xx doesn’t support the .rcp file extension for profiles, and either does the newest Cura version, so I’m not to sure which version I’m supposed to use, or maybe I’m missing something else. If anyone here knows how I can load the .rcp profile into ANY version of Cura I would be happy to know. Thanks
Not an expert on this by any means but my research has concluded that cura has been changing the profiles and locations from versions 15.04,15.06 and the newer 3.2 and3.3 versions. I have been trying to figure this out myself. In 3.2 you can import a profile once you’ve added your machine . However it only allows for curaprofile or .ini profiles not the .rcp. Now I’m trying to open the file in note++ copying over to a new custom profile in cura. So far not much success.
@Dan_Baldwin so I guess I’ll just sift through a bunch of Cura versions and try to find the one with .rcp
@Matthew_Del_Rosso PIA having to install and uninstall each version then clean up registries and appdata files but that’s what I’ve been doing for a couple of days now. FYI even uninstalling leaves folders behind in appdata local and roaming.
@Dan_Baldwin thanks for the info, I’m sure it will take awhile, but I can’t seem to get the hang of repetire host, so cura is my only option.
OK so I contacted distech and they said that the profile is not meant for Cura only for Repetier. There instructions are slightly confusing, but sure.
