So I figured I would show you all the monstrosity that is the enclosure for my Prusa i2. It’s setup for PLA right now and the front glass broke so it has a smaller piece in it right now.
Next term I’m going to build a super sized OB1-Redwood and ill be able to have a plexi enclosure build directly into the frame.
How is the difference in quality?
The enclosure? It helps quite a bit with ABS, ABS is a very well how should I put this (it can be a picky bitch) about ambient temperature, how hot the heated bed is, the hot end, hell if you look at it wrong it warps… Ok enough ranting.
Yes the enclosure has improved my print quality with ABS in general, keeps the minute gusts of a gnats leg at bay, keeps the part nice and toasty for even cooling of the entire part etc…
I find even leaning in to watch it print closely, breathing on the print causes warps. It seriously is ~that~ picky.
