So I am working on a project and I have all the LEDs I think I need but they are different chipsets. Some WS2801 and some WS2811. Is it ok to mix chipsets and just put them on different pins? I will just put the WS2801 on the SPI and the WS2811 on another. I am nearly certain this is possible but thought I would ask to see if anyone else has done this…

Yup it is quite possible - I do this often when doing test setups (e.g. single test program, driving WS2801, LPD8806, WS2812, APA102 at the same time)
