Looks like a darn good box!
Hope all the joints stitch up cleanly. ![]()
Very cool.
I am just doing traditional woodworking.
With all the CAD programs I have, I could have done it on the cnc but its fun to go old school and cut everything with traditional woodworking tools.
Like table saw, band saw, router table, drum sander, palm sander, battery drill, …you know old school woodworking tools. lol. Like the old days. I even pulled out my hand saw for a single cut.
Yeah, ages ago I made:
using hand tools — it’s fun, but any future handtool projects will need to wait for retirement and more free time.
Finally finished the project. Two coats of tung oil. Wife did not want it too shiny.
Changed the barrel hinges for some piano hinges. I need to make some jigs for installing the barrel hinges. They are finicky. I could not make them work by my eye balling them precision. They are cool so do want to use them in the future but my personal precision is not sufficient unless I actually focus on it.
I may remake this project in the near future. Wife now wants some zebra wood. Another species I have not worked with.
