Tried working with the rotary a little while ago. Having some issues with it, so I stopped, shut everything down, went back into the house to design another project that doesn’t involve rotary just good ol’ flat acrylic..
Took out the roller, reconnected the Y axis, powered up. It will now not move any further than a few millimeters. X-axis gave me some trouble, too, but I think I got that corrected. There was some drive belt chatter, while sussing all this out.
I’ve reset the Ruida a few times, but nothing changes.
Lightburn 1.7.08,
Ruida 644S, RDC V8.01.53, HMI V4.50
Edit: After posting this, I started poking around the Ruida menu and have tried resetting the Y axis… no change.
Edit 2: Got into the menu, tried deleting the ‘temp file’, thinking that it may still be holding on to the rotary file I was working with. No go. Did not delete. And when I go to read that file, it says ‘no files’.
Edit 3: Standing over the top of it, I sighted down the gantry and noticed that the y axis is a little bit skewed, lower on the right by, oh, two or three teeth. This would make sense as to why the axis would only move a few millimeters, then stop when the motor was fighting itself. Currently working on loosening the drive belts and trying to see if I can resolve it that way.
Edit 4: Got the gantry squared away (literally). Made the drive belts equally tight; too tight, and I get motor chatter, so… backed off a bit. However back to square one. If I manually reset the pantry to upper left, Y axis shows 0.0, but when I press the down button to move it, it goes the short bit and the coordinates read 299.7.
