Hello, fellow hobbyists,
I want to show you two newly created wallets that I have recently made. The patterns of both are identical, but the decoration varies: one is dedicated to Montserrat and the other to La Mola. Both combine, in the form of a story, the recent history of Greta Thunberg and climate change.
My city, Terrassa, is located about thirty kilometers northwest of Barcelona, between two unique mountains: to the west is Montserrat, internationally known, and to the north, La Mola, more modest but equally fascinating.
The wallets have nine compartments and are made up of twelve pieces each, made of natural-colored vegetable-tanned leather, as well as three clasps, four rivets, nylon thread, a hair tie and four pieces of technological fabric with radio frequency data transmission (RFID) blocking properties.
First, the leather must be thinned to a thickness of about 0.5 mm. Then, with a laser, the decoration is engraved and the pieces are cut out with the same system. Then, the dyeing is applied with an airbrush using penetrating inks. Finally, the pieces are assembled and sewn with nylon thread and leather strips, and the four rivets are placed that give them great robustness.
