Please help me with small issue to stick to unheated bed - blue tape method.
How often do you change blue tape?
On first few times of printing plastic was sticking to bed, however it doesn’t work as good after some time.
I tried to clean blue tape with rubbing alcohol, with not much of success.
When it stops sticking, change it.
The number of print will vary for me, but like Anthony said, once it stops sticking I’ll change it.
Also, I’ve noticed variance in some of the 3M rolls I have. One is smoother and sticks really well versus another one seems to have more texture. Room temperature will also affect the quality of the sticking as well.
Usually after 3 prints, my 3m blue tape is done.
Thank you, I’ll keep that in mind. Around 4-5th it started to peel off.
ALso, with the Blue tape, if I know the size of the piece being printed, I will only put down that amount, usually in the front left corner. Or if I have covered the whole bed, only replace one or maybe two strips at a time (I’ve got a 8"x8" build platform).
As for how often, I can usually see the tape get to a point where it won’t stick, as the others have mentioned… it usually starts to go a little white…
Time to buy more widest tapes
