Finally got around to playing with a relatively recent tool addition to my local makerspace. It’s an OMTech 30W MOPA fiber laser. I’m in love ![]()
Not a huge learning curve, software wise, to get started since I’m very familiar with using Lightburn with a CO2 laser. Just having to learn what the new parameters like frequency and Q-pulse do, among others. We have a nice material library so I have good starting points to play with. Not to mention all the how to videos I’ve watched. ![]()
Managed to engrave and cut out the makerspace logo from 24ga (0.5mm) brass sheet. It’s small at about 15x15mm. It’s going to be inlaid into wood for something else I’m making. Love it!
