Planning to buy Stepper motor from local shop - Can you recommend

22 Ncm, 1.8degree, 2.8V, 1.33A - for xyz
40Ncm, 1.8degree, 2.55V, 1.7A - for extuder. Is that ok.?

FYI. I will be using RAMPS and Pritrboard

You’re going to want 40 N-cm for the X/Y; it’s a lot of weight you’re slinging around. Might be able to get away with the lower end ones for the Z axis. They also need to be bi-polar (4-wire).

Also, useful website here for converting between torque units while shopping around: http://www.numberfactory.com/nf_torque.html

And you wouldn’t be using RAMPS AND a Printrboard. It’s one or the other. RAMPS + Arduino MEGA, or a Printrboard.

@ThantiK

Ok then I will use,
40Ncm, 1.8degree, 2.55V, 1.7A - for x,y,z & extuder.

  • Will the RAMPS + Arduino or Printrboard will be able to drive the above power rating.
  • There is also 52Ncm motor, is 40Ncm be able to drive the extruder ?

RAMPS or Printerboard will both be able to drive those motors just fine.

As for extruder, depends on the setup? Direct drive? 1.75 or 3mm? Bowden tube? Geared extruder?

I am planning direct drive, both 1.75 and 3mm Geared Extruder

If it’s a geared extruder, then yeah, it’s fine.

Thanks for the help
