This is where I think 3D printing has one of its best futures. The blue trailer shown is a special trailer for carrying pallets and 1 ton bags. I drew all the components in open scad and then printed them out and assembled them into the trailer. My colleague +***** added the motor and batteries to show how it could lift a pallet from the ground or by placing the forks in a different position it could lift a one ton bag.

I have been nursing this idea for 20 years or more I even asked a trailer manufacturer to build me one however he found me ready made machine which did the job so I didn’t take it any further.

I now have a beautiful model to demo the idea to people and I was thinking about trying 1 of the kickstarters so that I could manufacture a batch of them for customers.

Whether I take this idea forward or not doesn’t really matter, the example is that there are loads of people like me out there with an idea which has been nagging them for years. 3D printing offers them the possibility of creating a good model for demo purposes so they can explore the possibilities of the idea this is where I think there is a good business opportunity, talking to someone, turning their idea into 3D design drawings and then printing them out.

So if you know anyone with such an idea put them in contact with me!
