I could have sworn that a GE research group did just that a few months ago.

@Jeff_DeMaagd I think that was GE Research printed a single part of a jet engine.

The information I found was a bit inconclusive though, I didn’t find anything that said it was completely 3D printed, the outer shell of the GE looked maybe stamped.

Edit: I watched the video again, all parts of that GE do seem 3D printed.

It’s a non-running copy of a jet engine and will help in prototyping in the design phase. Nothing new here. You run a 3D printed turbine (Even a laser sintered one) at 100k rpm and you’d better duck! BUT they make for great rocket nozzles. Ask SpaceX…
