Can someone tell me downsides or “hidden” things that come with printing stuff with SLA / DLP? I overheard things like brittle prints or prints becoming brittle and whats the cleaning process, these are costs, too? Some days ago I read about “having to replace the vat often”, never heard of this before. Maybe there is much more I don’t know about printing SLA/DLP?! I have pretty good knowledge about FDM-Printing and if someone could explain differences to me, that would be fine  (Not the process of printing itself, that is very clear  )

It’s messy. Mechanical properties have a lot to do with uv intensity and exposure time and how you post process it. Also not all resin are created equal. The VAT is a wear and tear item so it should be replaced periodically. I know some are trying to improve on that with some degree of success. To me it’s a big and slow learning curve, mostly because the user base is quite low and it’s hard to exchange knowledge like you could with FDM. I will be building an SLA printer using a DLP projector at some point, but for now I’m learning as much as I can with a Form 2.

You can develop sensitivity to the resins according to some people here. Not just sensitivity, super-sensitivity. After that it’s nearly impossible to work with.
