Kokichi Sugihara’s Ambiguous Cylinder, made real by Thingiverse user MakeEverything, printed on my Kossel Mini and held up to the bathroom mirror. Like it.

That’s crazy

So it’s an optic illusion, made possible by curvatures on the rectangle and the vantage point of the camera?

I printed the 4 cylinder version but haven’t had much luck recreating the illusion. I can’t seem to find the right angle

@Yuriy_Fazylov_Yuriyo That’s right. The curvature in vertical direction.

@Kyle_Madruga It very much helps to close one eye. Perspective helps the brain figure out what’s really there and weakens the illusion, so it looks best through a camera lens or with one eye closed.

@Kyle_Madruga Sorry not perspective, you get that with one eye, it’s the two views – stereo vision – which helps the brain sus the illusion.
