My plan for adding an inductive homing switch to the 4th axis of my CNC milling machine.

Have you considered using a hall effect switch and a glued 3 mm disk magnet? The end result would be extremely compact, like a cubic cm or so in volume.

As I wrote, I’m about to try an inductive sensor and a washer. It does not have to be compact. It just has to fit the front side of my 4th axis.

Yup, just tought about making a suggestion in case the other sensor does not work as desired.

It’s something I could try. Indeed.
I was mainly asking here for experiences of other people who have already done the same.
