This is a bit dated and most people have seen it, for those who haven’t …Making Something Out of Nothing Using Nothing (renewable energy) This just blew my mind away,

In a world increasingly concerned with questions of energy production and raw material shortages, this project explores the potential of desert manufacturing, where energy and material occur in abundance.

In this experiment sunlight and sand are used as raw energy and material to produce glass objects using a 3D printing process, that combines natural energy and material with high-tech production technology.

Solar-sintering aims to raise questions about the future of manufacturing and triggers dreams of the full utilisation of the production potential of the world’s most efficient energy resource - the sun. Whilst not providing definitive answers, this experiment aims to provide a point of departure for fresh thinking.

I don’t understand how sands transformed to a material where it becomes a building materials,
Glass are made of sands and lots of different materials combined,
If this is true; it would be the biggest revolution on earth for the next 50 years of construction. But how rigid is it?!
It is worth searching !!

You could scale its size by watching the video. A glass construction…well if it holds up could work as a structure. Or just make really cool objects. or as the video shows usefull ones as well. Bowls, drinking glasses etc.
