I think I got a bum batch of endstops. I bought, I dunno, 6 of them, and so far the first was the longest lived at 4 months, the other two lasted 3-6 weeks. The printer, when requesting Z-home, will move away from home a little bit, and stop. The Red light is on, and will turn off if you place something in the sensor path, but that ‘Hey, I’m open’ signal never reaches the controller board.
Has anyone else seen this? It’s seriously annoying!
Are you sure it is not the cable ? Most endstops have the led directly in the signal path, so if the led works, teh sensor works. But yours could ofcourse be different.
@Jeff_Dewe I’m really not sure, they were purchased a good 18-24 months ago…long enough that the advice could be completely invalid. As it is, I bought 6 with the thought I’d use them for X Y and Z on three printers and ended up just using Z Min on one printer (the other I just manually set when I needed to.)
@Dominik_Wenger I’ll give the cable a shot, I had to lengthen the cable to reach and it could be a bad solder on the signal line.
