One day E3D will have enough heatsinks for me to actually sleep on them

One day E3D will have enough heatsinks for me to actually sleep on them with a pillow made of heatbreaks. For now 3D printed David and I will do.

will that many bring the price down??.

To say your hotend design is popular is becoming an understatement …

As a home machinist, your heat sinks are a thing of beauty.

@jinx_OI we’re working on it - and every design decision we make factors cost into the mix.

@William_Frick Cheers! they really are pretty little things.

@Mike_Miller trust me, the first ones I made on my lathe at school were atrocities, but they worked. Our machinist is some sort of god or demon, we constantly throw absurd unmachineable geometries with ridiculous tolerances and silly sizes at him and beautiful perfect parts come back.

its just my humour Sanjay.I happily paid the price and would again only wish those that buy the china clones jhead would just give up and get E3D. save them so much grief. lookin forward to the V6. please make it universal for bowdon and direct.

Shouldn’t the easiest way to do both bowden and direct types in a single hotend be to just make them all bowden compatible, and supply a small plug with a 3mm hole which goes into the bore for the bowden adapter if you’re using direct extrusion?

The drill and tap is a moderately expensive operation as the part has to be flipped to perform the operation.

But yes, we agree, and we’re pretty much at that point with v6, but with a slightly cooler more compact implementation. Soooon

Hrvoje, close but the hole gotta match bore of the heatsink1.75 or 3 mm with a slight hex relief to allow to screw in " a lot like the mkV jhead plug that hold the inner liner in". but this may not be the thread to discuss this at the moment let just admire the mountain of cold ends & heat break :stuck_out_tongue:

@Sanjay_Mortimer I’ll hold off on that part of my Ingentis build then.

@Sanjay_Mortimer1 Is the “Sold Out” status everywhere a precursor to imminent V6 release?

@denix sold out?! We have hundreds in stock and ready to ship. The website should reflect that? Just to be clear, v6 is a little way off yet. We have quite a few things to sort out yet, as well as a beta run for testers before they go for retail sale.

@Sanjay_Mortimer thanks! I see v5 is now restocked in most of the places. It was sold out pretty much everywhere here (US distributors) as well as on the main UK site recently…

I have never been sold out (http://www.filastruder.com), and I’ve been a US distributor since November 2013…

@Tim_Elmore good to know, but my last order from filastruder took almost 3 weeks to deliver and I’m just 3 states over… :frowning:

Such is the case with USPS First class mail occasionally, unfortunately. I try to keep shipping cost down by providing all options, but First Class is the slowest/most unpredictable - I’m showing it spent 10 days inside of a single sort facility. Usually first class is 2-3 days, but if you need it in a hurry, you should choose USPS Priority. I’m also showing that it shipped out within 24 hours of you placing the order.

Since it took so long, I’ve refunded your shipping cost on the order.
