On my Monoprice Mini Select I had a jam, then it ripped off this heat “tape” beside the nozzle.
Do I need to replace the whole part or just the tape? If just the tape, does anyone know what kind?

just cut that loose bit and continue as normal … no worry the tape is a little unneeded protection. The Tape is polyimide (Kapton) a heat resistant polymere.
It’s Kapton holding a ceramic insulation fabric. It protects the heater block from part fan turbulence and reduces exposed heated area in case you get careless with where your fingers go. They do get fragile with use. The machine will probably work fine without it. For the next part, I would watch to see if part cooling drags down the temperature too much.
You can get replacements here:

I have that printer. The replacement tape is kind of a pain to get situated around the nozzle as it’s not sticky and has to be pinned in place with the heater block. I started using high-temperature silicone paste instead.
@Stephen_L Great idea. Are you using similar?.. http://www.jbtoolsales.com/loctite-37469-hi-temp-rtv-silicone-red/?gclid=Cj0KCQiA-ebSBRC8ARIsAGuxJIr3-Bi_Fkf1aUkOnKSJEYehSmtg-Ng62tJTLuXLlw2LFrUPOZTioe4aAggpEALw_wcB
@Chris_Hargis similar. This is the actual thing, it has the highest temp rating I could find:
@Stephen_L I’ll give that a try, thanks.
@Stephen_L Need to look up drying Times
@Tommy_Rayburn if you heat the nozzle (after you apply the paste), it’s pretty quick; but since you want the silicone to be where it isn’t going to touch anything (just like the tape), it doesn’t really matter if you start printing while it’s still curing.
