OMTECH 100 W CO2 laser - cut changing

I am having an issue with the engraving loosing focus as it moves further from the starting point. I came into this fabrication lab, years after the purchase of a 60W and 100W OMTECH CO2 laser. The 60 W has worked with no issues, however the 100W had so many. The laser was not focused/aligned, so it was cutting a really thick line. I have fixed this particular issue, but I still have this one that I can’t figure out.

This time I started in the upper left, rather than in the lower left, as in the first picture.
I was testing whether it was just moving away from the starting point that was the issue or a particular axis. It appears that the issue is only going right along the x-axis.

Prior to posting this, I also checked starting in the lower right. It looks the same, so it is definitely a positive on x-axis issue.

I am thinking it is the belt or something that happens as the beam gets further from the mirror.

What alignment procedure did you use?

Ghosting can be caused by a mirror misalignment that causes the beam to impinge on the nozzle.

That has lots of useful information. It includes a link to How to adjust mirrors for proper light path which has three different resources for checking/fixing alignment.
