Ok, here’s what I get when shot:
6W Laser Diode//4.5 amp superX drive Laser driver//3.3v/5v logic level converter
NEMA 17’s
30a/12vdc p/s//2a/5vdc p/s (just wanted to unload USB drain,if any)
Win10 running LaserWeb3
Smoothieboard 4c/current config shown
Soldered to p3.25/connects to llc/logic level converter to LD driver/driver to LD
THE PROBLEM(s):
- The outline of the picture isn’t bad, but no details of the face. Laser spot size set in LW3 to .05 (and even thats a little large) Actual spot size about .03-04
- I don’t see how to configure pin 3.25 to open drain. Arthur Wolf asked if I had, and I told him no. Also said I was going to try the LLC first.
- Laserweb3 configuration: When I set (optional) commands to turn laser off and on to M3/M5, everything in raster conversion is inverted while firing laser (picture comes out negative on workpiece).
- LaserWeb3 command prompt:…does nothing at all. M3/M5/G0/G1,2,3/M999
So that you’re aware, I never sat at the front of the class, but even while sleeping, I still passed (most of) my courses.
You guys have been at this for a while. I have been using my Full Spectrum Laser hobby laser for about 3 years. I have a Roland EGX600,300, and 20, plus a Viper 9x13 rotary engravers. I am re-engineering all of them for humans, since proprietary software sucks.
Going back to my XY/smoothie combo, I am willing to be schooled about coding (as long as you speak in small words), because, I think that the LLC works great…for vector. Decent raster engraving will have to come directly from the smoothie @ 5vdc pwm. Where are you Yoda?
Thanks for reading, I’ll put some more pics up in a minute.
