Ok Friends, this are the first try to mill a pcb with chilipeppr. I have to configure the deep of endmill. But for the first time … Not bad
Really cool
Might be a perfect opportunity to get touch probe and auto-level working if you haven’t already. It’s been well worth it for me and you’ll get near perfect results for z-depth. It also helps a ton when cutting metal parts. Are you using grbl? Let me know if you have questions on my setup!
Looking really good.
I did the autolevel feature and work with touch probe. But i have to check the code, cuz if i say -0.1mm deep then the result in gcode are -0.07mm. Also i forgot to switch on the mark holes feature and the gcode dont make a toolchange for dimensions.
Looks fantastic! I used to work in the electronics department of a college and I had purchased a PCB router for the department. It was great for prototyping. What kind of machine are you running?
@Brian_Cross It’s a eShapeoko: http://store.amberspyglass.co.uk/configurable-size-eshapeoko-mechanical-kit-with-open-end-plates.html but sadly “out of Stock”
@jlauer Found the first issue in input field for trace-depth, the default are not -0.1(html), i changed this to 0.07(js). Version online at http://chilipeppr.com/xpix?forcerefresh=true
I had the default at -0.1 to account for anomalies even if you’ve auto-leveled. Doing just -0.07 is likely too aggressive since that’s the exact depth of the copper on the FR4.
